Class Descriptions

Gymnie

Ages 18mo-4yrs, 45 minute class. Ages 18mo-2yrs: One parent must be present on the floor to help child learn to listen and to try new things as directed by the coach. This class is great to help the child learn in a group setting. The first part of the the class is more coach-directed while the last 10-15 minutes will be a time for your child to explore and try new things directed by you in the gym! Ages 3-4yrs: the parent may watch from the side.

Kinderoo

Ages 5-6, 1 hour class. Your child needs to be able to participate without a parent. This class starts your child in the basics of gymnastics with direction from the coach and also incorporates play time. It is a great place for your child to learn how to listen to a teacher without the help of a parent. 

Homeschool Classes

Ages 5+, 1 hour class. Exercise class for your homeschooler! Games and courses through the gym fulfill the phys ed. requirement for your program. 

Ninja Gym 

This class explores all the well known attributes of the ninja - stealth, agility, balance and coordination. Using gymnastics Canada’s fundamental movement patterns we will explore many fun ways to learn to move, land, rotate, jump, swing and stay very still, just like a ninja!

Ninja Gym Jr - Ages 3-5yrs

Teen Class/Adult Class 

These classes are partially unstructured to allow teens and adults to work on skills and fitness at their own pace, while still learning fundamental gymnastics movements and skills. Classes will be instructed throughout with full warmups, strength building and flexibility.

Tumbling & Trampoline 

These athletes learn tumbling skills on the floor and have use of our double mini and regulation size trampoline to explore beyond the basics of trampolining! 

Mini & Youth Cheer

Learn the fundamentals of cheer in this fast paced class! Cheers, motions, dance, jumps, kicks, basic stunt technique and tumbling!

Children with Disabilities

Children can explore gymnastics stations at their own pace in a quiet and calm atmosphere. Caregivers are welcome to work with their children in the space. The coach will tailor activities to the child's needs. 

Senior's Flexiblity & Balance

For adults 55yrs+, this coach led class will take you through stretching routines, gentle games and exercises aimed at improving movement skills to help with daily activities.

Ballet

An introduction to the fundamental movements of ballet. Your little dancer will express themselves to music while improving motor skills and coordination!

Jazz

Children will learn basic jazz techniques while being active and playing games. kids will learn a short combination at end of sessional to show off to parents.

 

 

 

 

CanGym Recreational Classes

 

Our recreational classes follow the CanGym program, which consists of 11 badges. This program was created by Gymnastics Canada and also includes components of the Junior Olympic program. We strive to offer programs that are taught with attention to the ability and skill level of each individual. We hope to encourage fitness as a lifelong aspect. 

Burgundy/Red/Tan

Ages 6+, 1.5 hour class. In the beginner class students learn the fundamentals of gymnastics such as landing, rolling, jumping and swinging. 

Bronze+

 1.5 hour class. In this class students progress their skills beyond the basics, using the floor, beam, bars and vault. 

Salto Teams

These athletes continue to work on their CanGym badge levels, while also accessing the Junior Olypmics program. They train 2x/week from September - June and become a team that supports each other in their accomplishments. Consisting of Salto 1 and Salto 2 (younger and older girls) the athletes learn routines that are showcased at funmeets in the spring. 

 

 

Class Dress Code

 

Athletes are to wear comfortable clothing suitable for hanging upside down. No zippers, buttons snaps or ties. Hair is to be tied back.
